Madsteez
Madsteez is an artist named Mark Paul Deren. He is based in California where he is known for creating very vivid large multi faced paintings. These are usually done on the sides of buildings or parks. He grew up in the outskirts of Washington D.C. I became familiar with Madsteez through Instagram and have followed him ever since. He has held solo exhibits in NYC, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. He has also been in group exhibitions in London, Germany, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Calgary, Art Basel, and Miami. He is an extremely well known street artist and many people can recognize his work once shown an example of it. He has collaborated with many different companies throughout his time as an artist as well. These include Boost Mobile, Nike, BMW/MINI, FIFA. He is a big time painter, which is mostly what his art is created by. A lot of the work that I have seen by him involves a very colorful and almost tie-dye portraits of famous individuals or characters from movies, books, TV series, etc. He takes a time-lapse of himself doing this type of work, which in turn is its own piece of art because it is very mesmerizing and interesting. I think the most interesting aspect of his art is the colors that he uses and how vibrant they are. They really pop off of the surface that he uses and connects to the viewer. I want to try to incorporate this type of color and vibrance into my next piece that I am going to do because I think it is very attractive to the viewers eye.
