Marshall McLuhan Response

When reading this I honestly had no idea what was going on or what I was reading. It seems extremely out there with the concepts that it is introducing and proposing. I understand and can relate to the part where he talks about todays child is growing up in two different worlds. You can see, especially growing up in this world, that one world or aspect of our life is completely digital and in cyber space, while another is actually in the real world living actual life. For example, you can be a totally different person when on the internet and on social media than how you are in actual life. This concept I think is actually very scary when you begin to think about it and how some people in this world really never live outside of the "cyber space" world. Another part that I can relate to is that our life is constantly evolving and changing, though in this day in age it is even moving a lot faster due to instantaneous things such as social media, the internet, and communication such as set messaging. Lastly, something else that I thought was very interesting was the part about "the others." He talks about with things such as the internet and social media groups of minorities cannot be ignored anymore, and you can see this with movements such as black lives matter. When there is oppression going on or inequality people go to the internet to voice their opinions and concerns, which in turn ends up making the entire world see, which sometimes can either have a positive impact or negative impact.
